Project Story

This project centered on reshaping the home's front approach with a paved walk that feels deliberate from the curb all the way to the porch. The new layout introduces a broader landing, a softer curved edge, and a stronger sense of arrival than a straight utilitarian path could provide.

The paving field was set in a herringbone pattern so the surface would read as tailored and durable at the same time. Border pieces sharpen the edges, while the surrounding gravel bands and bed lines help the walk sit cleanly between lawn, porch, and planting areas.

The finished result gives the entry sequence more structure and a higher-end finish without overcomplicating the site. It is a small-footprint hardscape move, but it changes how the front yard is experienced every day and gives the architecture a more grounded foreground.

Project Notes

Scope

Arrival path with more presence

The install reworks the front walk into a wider, more legible path that gives the porch a stronger visual base and a more intentional approach from the yard.

Material Palette

Gray brick pavers with texture

The selected pavers bring a restrained color range and lightly textured finish that pairs well with painted brick, stone, and clipped foundation planting.

Site Logic

Curves that organize movement

The sweeping edge condition softens the walk, navigates around existing site elements, and helps the paving feel composed instead of simply cut into the lawn.

Finish

Clean joints and crisp borders

Close-up detailing shows the value of careful alignment, consistent joint spacing, and a defined border when the goal is a residential hardscape that feels custom built.
