Project Story
This project began with a serious drainage problem that required more than surface adjustments. Water pressure and subsurface movement had created a deep failure area, making the site unstable and forcing a full excavation to diagnose, correct, and rebuild the drainage path properly.
The solution combined major earthwork, water collection, grading correction, and a finished drainage assembly designed to direct runoff away from the lawn and surrounding landscape. Hard collection components, rock detailing, and clean edge transitions were all used to make the system functional without leaving the repair looking overly utilitarian.
The completed project performs as infrastructure first, but it also leaves the property in far better visual condition than the failed area that came before it. Instead of uncontrolled water and erosion pressure, the site now has a defined drainage route and a finish layer that feels resolved within the landscape.

Project Notes
Scope
Excavation first, finish second
This job required a true drainage correction, not a cosmetic patch. The depth of excavation and visible water pressure made it clear that the underlying failure had to be addressed thoroughly before the site could be rebuilt.
Collection
Defined path for runoff
Channel-style collection elements and graded routes give water a controlled way to move through the property rather than allowing it to sit or erode the surrounding lawn and soil.
Surface Detail
Rock drainage with cleaner edges
River rock and edge detailing help the finished system read as part of the landscape while still performing as hard-working infrastructure below the surface.
Result
Better performance without visual clutter
The final condition protects the site from recurring water issues while leaving behind a cleaner and more intentional finished edge than a raw drainage repair would have allowed.
If your property has standing water, erosion pressure, or drainage that needs a real correction instead of a temporary fix, Edmonds Environmental can diagnose the issue and rebuild the site with long-term performance in mind.
