Outdoor Living Portfolio

A full-property design-build commission shaped around arrival, terraced living, and planting that feels settled into the architecture rather than added after the fact.

Project Story

This outdoor living portfolio began as a property with strong architectural character but an outdoor environment that felt disconnected from the scale and quality of the home. Arrival, circulation, terraces, and planting were all present, but they did not yet read as one complete landscape.

The design-build process allowed each decision to support the next. Hardscape, grading, planting, and outdoor living were treated as parts of the same composition, which made it possible to create a more ordered visual experience while improving how the property works day to day.

The result is a landscape that feels quieter, more settled, and more closely aligned with the architecture. Movement through the property is clearer, the outdoor rooms feel intentional, and the planting supports the home instead of competing with it.

Project Notes

Scope

Outdoor Rooms

Terraces, gathering zones, and circulation were shaped to feel connected from arrival to the rear garden.

Material Palette

Stone Restraint

Stone and hardscape detailing were kept intentionally quiet so the landscape feels permanent and architectural rather than busy.

Site Logic

Drainage First

Grading and water movement were resolved early, allowing the visible design work to feel natural rather than forced.

Planting

Regional Layering

Plant masses were used to soften structure, frame views, and give the property a more settled, site-specific character.
